This game has been updated several times since the HEJ 2024 Május jam. You can find the jam version here.

Survive as long as you can! Your character will automatically shoot enemies coming from the left or right.

Look out for special zones spawning around you every 20 seconds, and try to stay inside their radius to receive a bonus:

  • Gold zones spawn coins
  • Red zones spawn medkits
  • Blue zones boost your weapon (damage and rate of fire)

You can purchase upgrades in zones using your coins:

  • Gold upgrades make more and more enemies drop coins when killed
  • Red upgrades increase your max HP
  • Blue upgrades increase your base damage

This game was made for the HEJ 2024 Május jam, with the theme "upgrade" and the modifier "20 seconds". The first version of this game was made live on stream for Trijam 270. And proof where proof is (not) needed:

Desktop controls

Movement:

  • Fixed speed movement with WASD, arrows or gamepad  D-pad
  • Variable speed movement with gamepad left analog

Turn:

  • Slower turn with J/L or gamepad shoulder buttons
  • Faster turn with U/O or gamepad shoulder triggers
  • Variable speed turning with mouse (left click to lock, adjust sensitivity with wheel or by pressing 1/2) or gamepad right analog

Buy upgrades in zones : SPACE/X/C or gamepad A/B/X/Y.

O to open options (audio & input settings)
F to toggle full screen
M to toggle music
R to restart
P to pause

Touch screen controls

Drag left side of screen to move

Drag right side of screen to turn

Tap BUY UPGRADE button to buy an upgrade in red/blue zones

Wow! The new monsters looks really nice.

Unfortunately I think I broke it again :)

Thanks! :) Also: wow :D I’ll try adjusting the difficulty curve a bit more. I just pushed a regression fix (build 30) and will definitely make another update today.

After the last update (build 28), I couldn't make the greed strategy work anymore to jump ahead the difficulty curve. All my runs ends around the 3 minutes mark now.

Thanks for the feedback, cod3monk! :) Updates might slow down a bit, as I need to start working on another game for the same jam series (the Hungarian One Game a Month jam), but I really don’t want to abandon this one.
